Nice site look rad.@Phartgarden & @K As for Ableton mixes, try using an Auto-Filter with a High Pass (low cut). It sweeps really nicely through the frequencies when mixing.

You’ve totally got that synth disco style down to a t dude. I have been looking for a good mp3 of Vh1 for awhile and ever since I saw Lifelike and Braxe do their thing I have been eager to increase my lifelike stock. for my ableton live mix, i cut out the parts of songs i want, then position them so they mix well.
i use some effects, recording them live, then making tweaks to it later.
i was using ableton live 6, just using built in 3band EQ.my goal is to play around with live6 on my powerbook, then eventually get Live 8 with an APC40 and a macbook pro toward the end of the year.

thanks – i need to post more modern friendly electro tracks. i’ll do that today…

i am an ableton noob. i am used to mix cds.
for my ableton live mix, i cut out the parts of songs i want, then position them so they mix well.
i use some effects, recording them live, then making tweaks to it later.
i was using ableton live 6, just using built in 3band EQ.

my goal is to play around with live6 on my powerbook, then eventually get Live 8 with an APC40 and a macbook pro toward the end of the year.

By: phargarten

Hey Kiyoshi,It's my birthday today and seriously I couldn't have asked for a better present than this website. Amazing. While I start sifting through all of these new tracks I had a question about your plans with Ableton. When you are going to be mixing, are you using the stems of tracks to mix cleanly or do you use an equalizer to filter out the sections you dont want? If you are doing the former, where is a good place to get stems? And if the latter, are you just using ableton's 8-band or a VST?Thanks. And legitimate praise on the website. Looks great and listens great.

Hey Kiyoshi,

It’s my birthday today and seriously I couldn’t have asked for a better present than this website. Primarily on DJing Live in the session view. I've been tinkering around with it, but I since have no real background in DJing, I'm kind of hitting a roadblock and need a little direction. Any tips. Thanks

Hi Kiyoshi,

First off, love the site, I’ve been telling friends about it.

Second, do you know any good online tutorials for beginners of Ableton?
