I came back from SXSW and life hasn’t been the same since. There are kids in America who like dreamwave and disco. I’m not even kidding: they’re real, living humans that don’t speak any European language and don’t hail from Australia, either. I’m stunned. After seeing Miami Horror, U-Tern, Treasure Fingers, Classixx, A-Trak, Penguin Prison, Database, French Horn Rebellion, and many others play to crowds that don’t care about ghetto rap, I think life may be worth living.

I might be giving the SXSW crowd a bit too much credit, but it’s a complete 180 from the city I live in (Houston). Here are some tracks with that dreamwave vibe, the last one (Anoraak) finishing it off with a smooth disco vibe. Oh, and I’m going to kill off “Blog Thievery” and start doing a bi-weekly radio podcast/show and also do some silly videos.
